Do you enjoy being with children?? St. Joseph School still needs parent volunteers for 45 minutes a week from 11:15 am until Noon for recess monitors.  Please contact the school if you are able to help us out.

Step 3:  Ask for the money to be put in the St. Joseph Mohican trip account

All proceeds will benefit this year's 5th and 6th graders attending the Mohican Outdoor School in the Spring.

March 5, 2010                                                Principal's Note:

    The winter snow is beginning to disappear, and the sunshine and early morning light is a welcome sign of spring.  Thank you God for the seasons.

    Friday night (5:00-7:00) we have a Fish Fry and encourage everyone to come and enjoy the best fish in the world! Chariman Patty Cress has worked hard, along with our many volunteers (Thank You!) to provide a delicious meal every Friday during Lent.  Also, this Sunday we are holding our first Open House (9:00-2:00) and Pancake and Sausage Breakfast (8:00-12:00).  Bring a friend to see our "Cool little school."  Students will be participating in both the 7:00 am and the 10:30 am masses.

    Our Little Caesar's pizza sales are complete.  The delivery date is Wednesday, March 10 after school.  The "Voice of Hope" geranium sale will begin Friday, March 12 through March 26.  Expected delivery date will be May 4th.  We will need 2 parent volunteers to collect and count money and help distribute orders when they arrive.  Please call the school and let us know if you can help.

    We gained a new Kindergartner, and now have 72 students.  We are growing and growing.

    March 17th, we have been invited to celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Sacred Heart.  We will join them at the 8:30 Mass, then spend an hour or so in Irish activities, before returning to SJS for lunch.

    We have a school-wide Retreat scheduled in May (13&14).  Teachers will need a meeting to prepare for the event, so we will have Early Dismissal (1:00 pm) on Thursday, March 18th.

    The Winter Sports Banquet is scheduled for Sunday, March 21st.  Participants are invited to attend the 10:30 mass, then join in the Convocation Center for the Banquet at 12:00.

    A change for our lunch program, that we started at the beginning of Lent will continue.  Any student who wishes to purchase any single item can do so "a la carte" at 50 cents per item.

    Thank you to all the parents who have scheduled and completed the Parent Interviews.  I am learning a lot about the many things that are appreciated by you, and some creative and innovative ways to make our school even better.  If you haven't had your interview, please be sure to schedule it, as it helps me tremendously to serve you better.  This is our school, and I can't do this job by myself.  Your input is helpful and of great value to all of the St. Joseph School community.

    And, we still have lots of numbers available for Clubplay 1000.  You win $50.00 and go back into the drawing for another chance to win every week until Dec. 31st.  Call the office and get a registration form.

    May the Lord accept your Lenten sacrifices and prepare your heart of His glory.
